The Philadelphia Flyers Lindbergh jersey patch was worn by the team during the 1985-1986 NHL season in honor of former Flyers goaltender Pelle Lindbergh, who tragically passed away in a car accident in November 1985.
Lindbergh had been a rising star in the NHL and was a key member of the Flyers team that made it to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1985. He was also the first European-born goaltender to win the Vezina Trophy, awarded to the NHL's top goaltender, in 1985.
In memory of Lindbergh, the Flyers wore a patch on their jerseys featuring his number (31) and the letters "PL" during the 1985-1986 season. The patch has since become a collector's item among Flyers fans and NHL memorabilia collectors
